Coldplay, the Beastie Boys, the Roots, Rufus Wainwright, Jason Mraz, Arctic Monkeys, the Stills, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the Decemberists, and Eagles of Death Metal headline
The 2009 edition of the Osheaga Music and Arts Festival features some 50 musical acts on four outdoor stages. Artistic director Nick Farkas says indie bands deserve a special place on the Osheaga stage.
“We like to give exposure to up and coming acts. We like to them a chance.”
Farkas says this year be on the lookout for Parlovr, Ladies of the Canyon, the Rural Alberta Advantage, Arkells, and Winter Gloves.
“We’re really excited about these bands,” Farkas said. “But what excites us the most is having people discover a new act.”
