Upper Town — Old Quebec (Inside the wall)
Harricana Par Mariouche — 44 Côte de la Fabrique, 418-204-5340. Harricana offers exquisite clothing made entirely with recycled fur. The collection includes unique hats, scarves, boots, bags, jackets, and coats.
Simons — 20 Côte de la Fabrique, 418-692-3630. The Simons department store chain dates to 1840 and is an institution in these parts. There are seven stores in the province. It’s the place for contemporary men’s and women’s fashions.
Rue du Tresor — In the shadow of the Château Frontenac, Rue du Tresor offers artists selling original works for as low as $10.
Logo Sport — 1047 Rue St. Jean, (418) 692-1351. Sports fans to the front of the line. Even though they moved to Colorado in 1995, Quebec Nordiques hockey memorabilia remains a bestselling item.
Upper Town — Downtown (Outside the wall)
Atelier de Luthier Moustache — 249 Rue St. Jean, (418) 529-6340. Located in the St. Jean neighborhood, Moustache highlights the work of talented artisans who hand craft and repair fine string instruments such as guitars, mandolins, and banjos.
Colisée Du Livre — 175 Rue St. Jean, 418-647-2594. A fun used book store. While most of the titles are in French, make your way upstairs to browse the small English book section. You never know what you’ll find. CDs, too.
Lower Town — Old Port
Verrerie la Mailloche —58 Rue Sous-le-Fort, (418) 694-0445. The storefront offers fine, hand-blown, one-of-a-kind glassware (watch your backpack!). The atelier offers demonstrations as well.
Lush — 102 Rue du Petit Champlain, 418-694-9559. Lush offers handmade cosmetics, bath and skin care products that are never tested on animals. But please, no tasting! The store resembles a colorful culinary shop with soaps that mimic chunks of chocolate and wheels of cheese.
Dugal Ebiniste — 15 Rue Notre Dame, 418-692-1564. This boutique offers the fine wood craftsmanship of 20 local artisans. For furniture, decorative objects, sculpture, and jewelry.
Librairie du Nouveau Monde — 103 Rue St. Pierre, 418-694-9475. While the titles are mostly in French at this quaint bookstore, the shop features a fun collection of nautical maps, charts and navigational guides in both French and English, as well as specialty antiques books and price guides.
Les Antiquités Marcel Bolduc — 74 Rue St. Paul, 418-694-9558. If antiques are on the shopping list, make your way to Rue St. Paul for no less than a dozen traditional and specialty antiques shops. Les Antiquités Marcel Bolduc is one of them. For collectibles, religious artifacts, vintage postcards, folk art, and Quebec license plates.
Vitrail Original — 79 Rue St. Paul, 418-522-5888. The place for original and ornamental painted stained glass items hand-crafted on-site. The nightlights make for a unique souvenir.
Lower Town — St. Roch
Benjo — 543 Rue St. Joseph E., 418-640-0001. A fun colorful shop that offers clothing, toys, and candy for kids.
Hugo Boss — 505 Rue St. Joseph E., 418-522-5444. The revitalized St. Roch neighborhood offers Main Street-style strolling along Rue St. Joseph complete with restaurants, cafés, and this fancy Hugo Boss boutique.
Mountain Equipment Co-op — 405 Rue St. Joseph E., 418-522-8884. Just in case you forgot your canoe. MEC has everything for the great outdoors.
